Let us spoil you with our excellent facilities - relax , read or watch TV in our spacious guest lounge which is tastefully furnished in traditional style. There is a video and selection of books about the locality for you to plan your visits. A log fire will give extra comfort on those cooler evenings. The house is centrally heated throughout and the quality of the property is reflected in the AA quality rating of five stars. We do not accept dogs other than guide dogs. Smoking is not permitted in the house. We do not allow children under 12 years. Enjoy a full English breakfast in the dining room. Local produce is used where possible. We are pleased to cater for vegetarians though please let us know on booking of any specific dietary needs. Packed lunches are available on request. A number of local pubs and restaurants serve excellent food at lunchtime and in the evenings. Outside you will find a delightful patio with garden furniture and a landscaped garden where you can relax, listen to birdsong, enjoy the countryside beyond and watch the sun set. |

The bedrooms are luxurious and spacious with excellent bathroom facilities. All rooms are centrally heated. The King Size bedroom is en suite. This bed can be converted to two singles if required. The double bedroom has a private bathroom with shower over the bath. Both bedrooms have tea / coffee making facilities, radio alarms and hair dryers. |

| At Turlow Bank you are only a step away from delightful walking country and a short walk takes you to Carsington Water where watersports, birdwatching and cycling facilities are available. Turlow Bank is within a few minutes walk of the charming and quiet village of Hognaston which is well off the beaten track and free of through traffic. There is a pub, a church, some delightful cottages and little else - ideal for a quiet stroll. There are traffic free trails along former railway lines with cycle hire available and within an easy drive are facilities for many outdoor activities including caving, climbing and hang gliding. Or take a walk along the River Dove and cross the famous stepping stones. We are 4 miles from the thriving market town of Ashbourne with its shops, antique shops, art galleries, restaurants etc. Other interesting small towns within easy reach include Buxton, noted for its fine Victorian and Edwardian architecture and a newly re-furbished Opera House offering a full programme of plays and concerts as well as the annual Opera Festival. Bakewell is a market town of great charm and of course is famous for the Bakewell Pudding. Well Dressings are unique to Derbyshire and are well worth viewing. Farmers Markets are held in many of the small towns and fine foods are produced in the Peak District. We are in a convenient location for all the attractions the Peak District has to offer such as Chatsworth House, Haddon Hall andHardwick Hall. To the south of the Peak lie Kedleston Hall, Calke Abbey and Sudbury Hall. Alton Towers is within easy reach. We will be pleased to offer our guidance on places to visit and there are tourist information centres to offer further guidance. |
